“A Big Chill?:-The ‘War On Terror’
                      And The University”

After five years fighting in Iraq and six years in Afghanistan, it is time to take stock of the effects this
open-ended "War on Terror" has had on teaching and research in higher education.  Among the
questions to be discussed by our distinguished panelists and their audience are: How are teachers and
students coping with the War? Has the curriculum adapted or expanded to stimulate inquiry and debate
about the causes and consequences of this avowedly "global" struggle? Have our classrooms and our
own studies been corrupted or enriched by discussions of the War?  Have we exercised our academic
freedom or have we found even that corrupted or diminished by conditions in the new century?  Come
  and contribute to the discussion.
